Design Thinking

About the Program

In today’s rapidly changing business environment, organizations are expected to solve complex problems, improve customer experience, innovate faster, and respond effectively to market uncertainty. Traditional problem-solving approaches often focus on efficiency and internal processes, whereas modern organizations increasingly require human-centric, creative, collaborative, and iterative approaches.

Design Thinking is a structured yet flexible problem-solving methodology that helps executives understand user needs, redefine business problems, generate innovative solutions, prototype ideas, and test them before large-scale implementation. It is widely used across sectors such as manufacturing, logistics, healthcare, education, banking, IT, public services, infrastructure, retail, and consulting.

This three-day Management Development Program is designed for industry executives from different sectors who wish to apply Design Thinking for innovation, process improvement, service design, product development, customer experience enhancement, and organizational transformation. The program will combine conceptual learning, sectoral examples, case discussions, hands-on exercises, group activities, and prototype development.

Pedagogy:

The program will follow an interactive and application-oriented online pedagogy. The learning approach will include:

  1. Interactive online lectures and discussions
  2. Case-based learning and sectoral examples
  3. Hands-on exercises using Design Thinking tools
  4. Group activities and online breakout discussions
  5. Group presentations and faculty feedback

The program will emphasize learning by doing. Participants will work in groups on practical problem statements and will move through the complete Design Thinking cycle: empathy, problem definition, ideation, prototyping, testing, and implementation planning.

The program aims to enable participants to:

    • Understand the principles, mindset, and managerial relevance of Design Thinking.
    • Identify and frame business problems from a customer and stakeholder perspective.
    • Apply key Design Thinking tools such as empathy mapping, customer journey mapping, ideation, and prototyping.
