Understanding the Differential Impact of PPP and EPC on Contract Execution

This programme aims to explain the peculiaritiesof PPP/EPC contract with respect to conventional contract e.g. displaced agency problem, problem of competence mapping in PPP/EPC vis a vis conventional contract, lack of capacity within procuring entity etc. It develops a taxonomy within which all infrastructure bidding methods can be slotted on two axes of 'financing' and 'bundling'. This makes easy understanding of different bidding methods.

 

It aims to equip procurement managers when to adopt PPP and when to adopt EPC and how? This MDP will explain the importance of 'externality' in deciding a particpular bidding method, aims to bring before the construction managers, a general equation within which incentive to a contractor can be designed with respect to payment.

Day 1: Bundling and unbundling of contract with case studies ( 3 hours+ 3 hours) by Madhu Ranjan Kumar (MRK)
Day 2: Organisational Foundation of PPP (3 hours). Case study: Understanding the differential impact of PPP and EPC on contract execution ( 3 hours) by MRK
Day 3: Framework to undertand relative merit and demerits of PPP and EPC, Role of stake holders with case study (3 hours + 3 hours) by MRK and Ved Prakash Dudeja (VPD)

  2. Refund policy

    Fees once paid can be adjusted for 1 financial year against future nominations only. In case a course is canceled on account of inadequate participation or any other unforeseeable reasons, the participants will be informed of the cancellation by e-mail or Fax and the fee will be refunded. IIM Mumbai will not be liable for any other expenses incurred by the company or the participant. Any transaction fee will not be refunded.
