Application and Selection Procedure
Application Process
Initially, the program will have a total of 40 seats. The Institute may admit more candidates depending on the number of shortlisted eligible applications. Interested and eligible candidates should apply through ONLINE mode only and register on “The IIM Mumbai website” during the window of time provided in the advertisement for admissions.
Online Application Fees
While applying online for the “PGPEx-EIM program, initially, the candidate has to register himself/herself and pay a one-time registration fee of Rupees 2500/-. The application fee remitted is not refunded nor adjustable under any circumstances.
Selection Process
The selection of candidates for admission to the PGPEx-EIM at IIM Mumbai is a two-step process: short-listing candidates for Personal Interviews (PI) and preparing the final merit list.
Shortlisting for Personal Interview (PI)
In this first step, candidates are short-listed from among the candidates:
- Who have applied to the Program and paid the prescribed registration fees within the window of time specified and
- Who satisfy the eligibility criteria for the Program
- Who have submitted the valid SOP
Candidates satisfying the above requirements shall only be considered for shortlisting. Further, the shortlisting of candidates for personal interview (PI) shall be based on the cut-off for the CAT / GMAT / GRE/ IMAT (IIM Mumbai admission Test) conducted by the IIM Mumbai, as decided by the Institute. IIM Mumbai reserves the right to change the cut-off in a particular year if required. Shortlisted candidates must attend the PI process. Otherwise, they shall not be considered for the next stage of the selection process and merit list preparation.
The reservation of seats in PGPEx-EIM admission will be as per the Government norms.
Merit / Wait List Preparation
The merit list for the PGPEx-EIM shall be prepared based on their weighted performance in the different components as given below. The final merit list shall be prepared based on the ranks of the candidates computed based on their weighted performance in the different components as given below:

Program Fees
The gross fee applicable per student for one-year programs will be ₹ 6.00 Lakhs inclusive of academic charges, facility charges, and caution money deposit (Rs 25,000/-) which is to be refunded to the student on graduating from the Institute or it will be adjusted against the outstanding dues in respect of the student. Following is the detailed schedule for the proposed fee payment.
1 lakh would be taken for booking the seat for admission before the deadline and would be adjusted in the total fee amount.
There are two campus immersions as the mandatory requirement of the program. The student must visit the Institute during both immersion programs. For this purpose, the student must bear their own travel costs. Further, during immersion, the student must bear hostel and mess charges as applicable in addition to the above fees. Based on the availability, accommodation hostel options will be given which will be charged as per the Institute rules. The accommodation and food charges has to be borne by the student.
Offer acceptance, withdrawal, and refund
Candidates shortlisted for provisional admission to the PGPEx-EIM Program at IIM Mumbai will be informed by email and/ or online notification. Individual regret communication will not be sent to the applicants. A candidate receiving an admission offer from IIM Mumbai and accepting the offer within the stipulated date as specified must pay the full / Patial admission fee, as applicable to secure the seat in a Program. That is, all the candidates accepting a seat must pay the initial fees of Rs 1.0 Lakhs to book his/her seat, and then, depending on the fee option chosen (annual or module-wise), must pay the balance fees as per the timelines. Further, if a candidate subsequently withdraws the admission at any point, the amount will be refunded as per the Institute rules. The candidate must make a written application/e-mail request for the withdrawal of admission.
The program's admission shall be closed once the number of sanctioned seats gets filled or candidates are unavailable as per the decided cut-off in the final merit list or the Last Date of making Payment.
It is to be noted that there is no placement support for the participants of this PGPEx-EIM program. However, based on the performance, and the evaluation of the business idea, mentorship and incubation support will be provided to the select cases.
