About Program

Following the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 emphasizing on multidisciplinary and liberal education approaches in higher education; and in line with the institute’s vision and mission, Indian Institute of Management Mumbai (IIM Mumbai) endeavors to broaden its base in management education by adding a new specialized programme in Financial Economics and Management. In today's globalized and uncertain world, it is difficult for organizations to make the right decisions without in-depth knowledge of macroeconomics, financial markets, and the policy framework at large.

This programme aims to create skilled professionals like financial analysts, financial risk manager, portfolio manager, investment banker, consultants and economists to supplement the existing workforce currently available in the domain. The aspiring professionals will be equipped to navigate the complex dynamics of financial markets, economic principles and strategic decision making for sustainable economic growth. Besides, the programme will also help in building the right kind of talent pool to cater to the human resource needs of the emergent fields like Fintech, Climate Finance, Quantitative Finance and other key financial services. This rigorous programme delves into the intricacies of financial management, economic analysis and their interplay within contemporary business contests. Through a comprehensive curriculum curated by academic scholars and industry experts, participants will gain a deep understanding of key concepts such as accounting, investment and risk management, macroeconomic trends, managerial, behavioural and analytical concepts and financial regulations.

The Post Graduate Programme in Financial Economics and Management (PGPFEM) will be conducted by IIM Mumbai in collaboration with the National Stock Exchange (NSE) as its knowledge partner in online mode with one or two week in-campus immersion opportunities.
