About the Program

The Indian Institute of Management Mumbai is proud to conduct the Malaviya Mission Teacher Training Programme (MMTTP) under the Ministry of Education’s flagship initiative, the Nurturing Future Leadership Program. This prestigious, selection-based initiative is designed to cultivate academic leadership among faculty members—particularly those in the early stages of their careers. It aims to build a robust pipeline of future leaders to support generational transitions in higher education.

Open to faculty across Centrally Funded Institutes (CFIs), State Public Universities, and Private Higher Education Institutions (HEIs), the five-day residential program will be delivered by premier institutions with demonstrated expertise in leadership and management education.

Objectives of the Programme

This program aims to equip participants with the necessary skills to:

  • To build a supportive ecosystem that fosters the development of leadership competencies among faculty members, especially those in the early stages of their academic careers.
  • To expand and strengthen the leadership pipeline by identifying and nurturing a diverse pool of faculty with the potential to take on institutional leadership roles.
  • To enhance faculty readiness for proactive participation in institutional decision-making, shared governance, strategic planning, and problem-solving processes.
  • To ensure high standards of training through a rigorous and merit-based selection process, engaging only the most motivated and capable participants.
  • To provide institutions with a structured mechanism to evaluate and benchmark the leadership potential of their faculty members through program participation and engagement.
  • To align personal leadership development with broader organizational goals, promoting innovation, collaboration, and institutional excellence in higher education.
