Program Overview

Post Graduate Diploma in Project Management (PGDPM) program of NITIE is designed and offered to meet the growing need of professionals in the field of project management across the different sectors.

This two-year, full time and completely residential program aims at

  • Creating professionals equipped to meet the challenges in executing project, programs and portfolio
  • Develop project managers that will be capable of managing, developing, and implementing large investments by government, and/or private industries for successful projects execution

The program provides a multidisciplinary approach to facilitate students in grasping the need of different functions like procurement, logistics and finance in delivering safe, timely and cost-effective execution of projects.

The diverse group of students who join this program are all engineers and majority come with two to three years of work experience in the industry. The PGDPM program follows a credit-based curriculum wherein a student has to complete 126 credits earned through classroom sessions, summer internship in industry along with Final project spread over the second year of curriculum. The program is of 8 trimesters (4 trimesters in each year) with 30 courses. Students are exposed to real life business problems through 8 weeks of Summer Internship with the Industry. The final project gives opportunity to apply the body of knowledge in the field of project management, compile new ideas and/or propose new solutions.

The rigorous curriculum has an ideal blend of core and elective courses. The Institute core courses lay the foundation of knowledge base necessary to build the requisite techno-managerial skills among the students. The program core course and the electives build deeper knowledge in specialized domain of project management. Additionally, the Institute Electives enable to broaden the skills in functional areas Economics & Strategy, Environment Engineering & Management, Technology and Innovation Management, Marketing, Finance and HR. The curriculum is dynamic in nature as revision in curriculum takes place on a regular basis in order to keep pace with rapid changes in technology, industry, economy and the society. The PGDPM program aims to create professionals who will not only be skilled and confident to tackle current challenges but will have competence in handling the large complex problems of the global economy.

Over the years, PGDPM program has made its mark in providing industry-ready skilled professionals to Indian corporates and the MNCs. The large Alumni base of the Institute, who are spread in all types of organizations and across a variety of functional domains is a testimony of this fact. It is no wonder why NITIE has been tagged as Mecca of Supply Chain Management because currently institute’s alumni are either heading or principally managing supply chain functions of more than 100 business houses from India and abroad.
