1. Credit System
The Fellow curriculum with Fellow Stream specific/area specific electives have been considered to create a Fellow course structure with 36 credits. The syllabus of each course is available with the Academic section.
The proposed Fellow course structure provides an opportunity for Fellow Scholars to have the breadth of knowledge and flexibility in choosing their courses aligned to the interest of the research.
2. Level of Courses
36 credits are covered with the following three-level of courses:

6.Curriculum Guidelines
Following guidelines will be applicable for Fellow curriculum:
- In module – 1, Fellow Scholar must undergo FIVE courses out of which two are Fellow compulsory courses. However, the Scholar has a choice 3 (three) courses our of 8 PGP approved core courses from module 1 and V of PGP.
- In module – 2, one compulsory course ‘Business Research Methods’ under Level-I is proposed for all Fellow Scholars. Along with compulsory course, Fellow Scholars must choose ANY TWO from PGP Approved Core/ Electives from Module II/ VI of PGP of 3 credit each and one Seminar Presentation -1 paper. Seminar paper will be under the guidance of research guide(s)
- In module 3, there will be three courses, one compulsory course “Research Method and Survey Techniques”, ONE PGP Approved Core/ Electives running in Module III/ VII and one Seminar paper - II under the guidance of research Guide(s).
- The Fellow Scholar must complete 06 Level-II courses. These courses are to be decided in discussion with the Area faculty/ RPC. Out of these, a maximum of 02 courses can be ONLINE courses, provided these are specialized course, equivalent to the full-time courses of IIM Mumbai, not offered by the Institute and recommended/accepted by RPC.
The online courses can be identified from well known and recognized platforms like MOOCS/NPTEL/Coursera/Edx etc., active learning programs offered by IIT/IISc/IIM/IISER/AIIMS, and top-tier international institutes preferably under top 100 in QS ranking. The credit requirement, as per the course outline, can be completed in the form of a project report and seminar (for continuous evaluation by RPC). For the final assessment, the candidate shall appear for the end semester examinations (to be conducted by RPC) at IIM Mumbai, during the regular examination period of IIM Mumbai. The evaluation and grading system of such online course work will be done as per Fellow Policy grading rules. - In the Level – III Course, i.e., Seminar Presentation (I and II), the Fellow Scholar chooses a topic in consultation with the Guide(s). To earn the credits, the Fellow Scholar shall prepare a report by reviewing the relevant and recent research in the topic chosen and make TWO presentations (Mid and Final) to the RPC. Based on the report and presentations by the Fellow Scholar, RPC will evaluate the Fellow Scholar and submits the Grade to the academic section. To complete the process, one copy of the report must be submitted to the academic section by the Fellow Scholar after the presentation. The evaluation and grading system of such Seminar Presentation will be done as per Fellow Policy grading rules. There will be no credit for the concerned faculty members. Survey techniques’. The course content for the new course will be the same as given in the ‘Research Methodology – II’ course of the existing Fellow curriculum.
- The Fellow Scholar has to complete 09 Level-II courses. These courses are to be decided in discussion with the Area faculty/ RPC. Out of these, a maximum of 03 courses can be ONLINE courses, provided these are specialized course, equivalent to the full-time courses of IIM Mumbai, not offered by the Institute and recommended/accepted by RPC.

For FPIP
1. Credit System
The course work credit requirements are as follows:
- In case of a Master’s degree (Full Time – 2 years or equivalent) from any IIMs/ IITs/ NITs or national level, the candidate will have to complete a total of 12 credits within one year from the date of admission
- In case of a Master’s degree or equivalent in Economics, Commerce, Social Sciences, and Sciences from any recognized University/ Institution, the candidate will have to complete a total of 18 credits within one year from the date of admission
- In the case of Graduates having BTech/BE or equivalent degree from IITs/ NITs or other national level institutes, the candidate will have to complete a total of 24 credits within one year from the date of admission.
The credit requirement, as per the course outline, can be completed in the form of a project report and seminar (for continuous evaluation). For the final assessment, candidates shall appear for only the end semester examinations at IIM Mumbai, preferably during the regular examination period of IIM Mumbai. The candidate can enrol for the courses which will be in line with the courses taught at IIM Mumbai or as per the expertise of the RPC members
